About this live event

A well-developed assessment and case formulation are the foundation of effective, evidence-based treatment. This one-hour course equips clinicians with the knowledge and skills to conduct and document comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments that meet payer and clinical quality standards. Participants will learn how to synthesize client information into clear case formulations that connect presenting symptoms, underlying factors, and treatment goals. The training emphasizes defensible, clinically sound documentation practices that enhance continuity of care, inform SMART treatment planning, and align with audit expectations. Through examples and practical strategies, clinicians will strengthen their ability to articulate diagnostic reasoning, identify risk and resilience factors, and justify medical necessity from intake through ongoing care.

  • Alisa Trout, LMFT

    Alisa Trout is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience in clinical operations, academic leadership, and provider training. As Director of Clinical Operations at Tava Health, she supervises a network of over 1,500 therapists, develops continuing education programs, and provides cross-functional leadership. With adjunct professor roles at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Jefferson University, Alisa specializes in curriculum design, evidence-based therapy techniques, and creating inclusive learning environments. Her career reflects a commitment to advancing mental health services through innovative education, trauma-informed care, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
